Scope – The District is seeking to continue with the existing Internet Access Provider, Cablevision Lightpath, for an additional two years. Currently our subscription includes dual 10 gigabits per second (gbps) circuits, which provide Internet access to all District locations. One of the circuits is located in the Data Center at One Larkin Center, while the other resides at Yonkers Montessori Academy. This resolution will allow the District to continue that subscription. Having both circuits gives us the ability to load balance Internet traffic, allowing for faster response times to all of our schools. Additionally, it provides the District with redundancy. The cost of these circuits is E-Rate eligible at a 90% (E-Rate portion - $86,400.00) discount, leaving the District’s share at 10% ($9,600.00). All applicable forms and applications have been filed accordingly. |

Resolution
|
WHEREAS the District is seeking to continue our Internet access subscription for all District locations, and,
WHEREAS the District currently subscribes to dual 10gbps Internet access circuit servicing all District locations, and,
WHEREAS the District’s Internet access is currently provided by Cablevision Lightpath via two 10 gigabit per second (gbps) circuits. Approval of this resolution would allow the District to continue with our subscription with Lightpath for the dual 10gbps circuits. This service is eligible for E-Rate discounts at 90% leaving the District responsible for 10% of the monthly/annual costs. All applicable forms and applications have been filed accordingly for the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 school years.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Yonkers Public Schools issue a purchase order to Cablevision Lightpath, NYS Contract PS68691 in the amount of $96,000.00 for the annual cost of the two 10gbps circuits to provide the District’s Internet Access for the 2021-2022 school year. |
