Rationale:
|
This is to award a Purchase Order as referenced above as per the attached emergency declaration for issued by the Superintendent on September 28, 2020.
Bids are not required under an emergency declaration.
Empire Energy Specialists, Inc., a Yonkers company, responded to a District call to further evaluate and secure the site and have submitted an acceptable proposal to replace these doors and door structure in an expedited time frame, anticipated to be within weeks of notice to proceed. The cost proposed is $16,400.00 (Capital Funds) which is in line with other such installations made in the District. Empire was the sub-contractor who replaced all the exterior doors at School 23 in 2016 and has acceptably completed 8 other projects for the District. |

|
Ladies and Gentlemen;
WHEREAS: An errant vehicle impacted and demolished the north entrance doorway to School 23, and
WHEREAS: said doorway is essential for the safe operation of the school and it’s timely restoration is of the essence, and
WHEREAS; an Emergency Declaration was signed by the Superintendent to most efficiently correct this constraint on building operations, and
WHEREAS: Empire Energy Specialists, Inc., a Yonkers company, the contractor who had installed these doors in a prior capital improvement project was solicited and submitted an acceptable proposal to perform this work for $16,400.00, and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to award the above CAPITAL FUND Purchase Order for “Entryway Door and Structure Replacement” at School 23 under Emergency Declaration to Empire Energy Specialists, Inc. 970 Nepperhan Avenue, Yonkers New York, 10703 for an amount not to exceed $16,400.00 for a term of 180 calendar days. |
