Rationale:
|
This is to provide uniforms for the 265 custodians and maintenance workers in School Facilities Department. This is already in the CSEA contract. The union was involved in selecting these services and has agreed to them. This is essentially similar to the Cintas agreement with City DPW except that the District does not provide outdoor clothing. Procurement is through the purchasing cooperative Omnia Partners R-BB-19002.
By Resolution 16.2 dated December 15, 2021, the Board of Education authorized the issuance of a purchase agreement with Cintas Corporation to supply uniforms to the District for up to five years at the initial annual cost of $115,536.20 and a term of 365 calendar days.
By Resolution 17.5 dated December 21, 2022, Amendment 1 was authorized to extend Contract 2022-0490 “Uniform Services”, increasing the contract amount to $231,072.40 and the term to 730 calendar days.
This change order will increase the contract by $60,000.00, increasing the total contract amount to $291,072.40, with no change to contract term.
These additional costs are a result of:
• Quantity adjustments (year 1)
• Damaged articles (Quartermaster System)
• Change of styles & materials for safety purposes
Cost per employee:
• 265 custodial and maintenance workers
• Based on 260 work days annually
• Total cost of uniform services $175,000.00
• $2.54 per day per employee
Overview:
• Weekly pick up and drop off of rental uniforms for 265 employees
• Lockers and soil bins are included
• OMNIA Cooperative (piggyback agreement) was reviewed with Purchasing
• Met with Union leaders to get approval on garment types and colors
• Flat rate billings – Weekly cost includes emblems, damages, and set up for new garments
• Each employee gets 11 shirts and 11 pants, 5 sets will be at Cintas and they will have 5 sets in locker |

WHEREAS: The District desires that its workforce look professional and be readily identifiable while working in District buildings, and
WHEREAS: These additional costs are a result of: Quantity adjustments (year 1), Damaged articles (Quartermaster System), Change of styles and materials for safety purposes.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to enter into a change order agreement with Cintas Corporation for a cost of $60,000.00, increasing the total contract amount to $291,072.40 with no change to contract term. |
