Rationale:
Via Resolution 15.15 at their stated meeting on February 26, 2020, the Board of Trustees awarded a requirements contract to CPL Architects, Engineers, Landscape Architects & Surveyor, D.P.C (CPL) for an amount not to exceed $1.0 million.

This assignment is under the aforementioned requirements contract with CPL to provide A/E design services for the GC and HVAC work required to install a new chimney liner as required by Con-Edison for the completion of CIP10851 “Gas Conversion” at Roosevelt subject.

The plumbing for the “Gas Conversion Work” has been substantially completed, except for Con-Ed turning the gas on. Con-Ed now requires existing chimneys to be certified to the new building codes before turning the gas on and the existing chimney will require a new liner to meet the new building codes.

CPL will prepare construction documents and specifications for submit an addendum to the NY State Education Department, issue construction documents for public bid and provide the District with construction administration services.

Ladies and Gentlemen:

WHEREAS: under Resolution 15.15 at the stated meeting on February 26, 2020 the Board of Education authorized the award of a requirements based, professional Architectural/Engineering services Contract 2020-00000632 to CPL Architects, Engineers, Landscape Architects & Surveyor, D.P.C in response to District RFP404 “Architectural & Engineering Services for the School Facilities Management Department” for an amount not to exceed $1 million, and

WHEREAS: work as defined under that contract is required for capital project 10851 for the “Gas Conversion Work” at Roosevelt H.S., and

WHEREAS: the response by CPL Architects, Engineers, Landscape Architects & Surveyor, D.P.C was deemed most advantageous to the District at a cost not to exceed $14,343.96 including $500.00 in reimbursables.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to appoint CPL Architecture & Engineering, CPL Architects, Engineers, Landscape, Architects & Surveyor, D.P.C, 50 Front Street, Suite 202, Newburgh, NY 12550 to the task of providing professional Architectural/Engineering services for CIP 10851 for the “Gas Conversion Work” at Roosevelt High School under a Requirements Contract 2020-0000632 to CPL Architects, Engineers, Landscape Architects & Surveyor, D.P.C, in the amount of $14,343.96 for 365 calendar days.
