Rationale:

Via Resolution 15.15 at their stated meeting on February 26, 2020, the Board of Trustees awarded a requirements contract to Barile Gallagher & Associates (BGA) for an amount not to exceed $1.0 million. The subject task is being assigned to BGA under this contract. RFP-420-20-06 was issued for the HVAC Upgrades at Scholastic Academy School 18 (PS-18), School 21 (PS-21) & Casmir Pulaski School 26 (PS-26). PS-18 is not being included at this time since recent developments will allow the existing systems to be replaced/restored and to be used for the foreseeable future. PS-21 has a project budget of $3,500,000 and its scope of work includes: replacement of select mal-functioning HVAC systems, conversion of steam boilers to hot water, new HVAC controls and replacement of the existing underground fuel oil storage tank. The administrative offices and server rooms will have air conditioning. The HVAC systems serving classrooms will include provisions for future air conditioning upgrades. BGA’s total fee for PS-21 is $325,000 and includes $25,000 for reimbursables. PS-26 has a project budget of $1,250,000 and its scope of work includes replacement of select mal-functioning HVAC systems in the cafeteria gym and admin offices, new HVAC to convert four storage rooms to classrooms, and upgrades to HVAC controls. BGA’s total fee for PS-26 is $115,000 and includes $15,000 for reimbursables. BGA will prepare construction documents and specifications for procurement of a building permit from the NY State Education Department, issuance of construction documents for public bid and provide the District with construction administration services. This RFP was issued only to BGA since they are already in these buildings for the COVID19 HVAC emergency response. |
