Rationale:
|
This is to provide on-call plumbing services to replace or otherwise remediate deficient drinking water outlets as identified by the “Lead Testing in School Drinking Water” legislation 10-NYCRR Subpart 67-4, and mandating that schools across the state re-test all drinking water outlets for lead contamination in 2020.
Bids for this work were duly solicited in compliance with Municipal Law 103 and opened on August 14, 2020. Lombardo was the sole bidder. However, Lombardo’s prices (identical to a similar contract already awarded by the City) and their history with the district (a known, reliable entity) and the need for speed necessitate the award of this contract at this time.
Lombardo will be working closely with H2M Engineering and the engineers in the Facilities Dept to replace or permanently abandon the outlets identified as “actionable” under the above mentioned sampling and testing program.
This work is being done under capital funds and is fully aidable by the SED. |

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: the District is desirous of returning to service as many water outlets as needed for the full operation of the district schools, and
WHEREAS: in the process of sampling and testing outlets, water outlets may require replacement or other remediation based on the results of the 2020 District program complying with the “Lead Testing in School Drinking Water” legislation 10-NYCRR Subpart 67-4, and mandating that schools across the state test drinking water for lead contamination, and
WHEREAS: bids for RFB6533 “District Wide Remediation Plumbing” were solicited and opened on August 14, 2020 in compliance with NYS Municipal Law 103, and
WHEREAS: the responsive and responsible low bidder was the sole bidder, Joe Lombardo Plumbing and Heating of Rockland, Inc., 321 Spook Rock Road, Suffern, NY 10901 with a bid of $109,150.00 for term of 365 calendar days. |
