Rationale:
|
This is to assign the subject task for “Fire Alarm Upgrades” at School 16 to Barile Gallagher & Associates Consulting Engineers, P.C. (BGA) as per the results of RFP420-21-30 at a cost of $50,500.00 This project will include an entirely new fire alarm and communications system for the entire school. The current estimated cost for this project is $500,000.00 and is under expedited SED review for construction upon receipt of the permit early 2002. For scheduling purposes, RFP420-21-30 was issued to BGA. Their design team has people already familiar with the school’s fire alarm systems and have a good track record for expediting work. BGA is to provide SED permits, bid documents, bid review, contract awards and construction support. There is a contingency $12,500 to be used by the District as needed for reimbursable expenses such as HAZMAT sampling and testing, special inspections, printing and additional owner requested engineering services required beyond the RFP scope services. |
