Scope: National Scholastic Chess Foundation will deliver chess enrichment programs to those selected by Yonkers Public Schools. The program will emphasize the development of higher-order thinking skills for students through instruction in the game of chess.

Resolution
WHEREAS the Board of Education wishes to enter into a contract with National Scholastic Chess Foundation to purchase consulting services to support enrichment programs to those selected by Yonkers Public Schools. The
program will emphasize the development of higher-order thinking skills for students through instruction in the game of chess, for the 2023 - 2024 school year,

WHEREAS the district administration has designed in conjunction with National Scholastic Chess Foundation a program which meets the objectives set forth by the Board and the New York State Education Department, and,

WHEREAS the Board of Education authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with National Scholastic Chess Foundation to provide these services, and

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with National Scholastic Chess Foundation at a cost not to exceed $20,100.00.
