Resolution
|
WHEREAS on September 12, 2022, the Superintendent of Schools approved an Emergency Declaration request for the Transportation Department to continue to support the 2022-2023 Athletics Program, Out-of-District Transportation, and McKenney Vento Act Transportation, as our school district is experiencing the effects of the nationwide school bus vehicle and driver shortage, and WHEREAS despite issuing two competitive bids in 2022 (RFB 6834 and RFP 459) which resulted in the School District partnering with five vendors, there are not enough buses to cover our routing and transportation needs, and WHEREAS New York State Education department agreed to allow the emergency contract on a monthly basis with the stipulation that Yonkers Public Schools will release a bid to enter into full academic year contracts, and WHEREAS the district administration has designed in conjunction with the Purchasing Department a contract which meets the objectives set forth by the Board and the New York State Education Department, and NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Countywide Transportation at a cost not to exceed $300,000. |
