Rationale:
|
As required by the Yonkers Public Schools Board of Education, this is a request to amend approved resolution, dated as follows: WHEREAS, on September 21, 2022, the administration awarded ATHLETICS Transportation contracts for the 2022-2023 school year with the option to extend for the 2023-24 and 2024-25 school years as per RFB-6834 to Academy Bus (2023-381) and VP Bus (2023-382); and WHEREAS, on November 16, 2022, the administration renewed the ATHLETICS Transportation contracts for the 2022-2023 school year with the option to extend for the 2023-24 and 2024-25 school years as per RFB-6834-A to First Student (2023-449) and Global Transportation (2023-452); and WHEREAS, on June 21, 2023, the administration renewed the ATHLETICS Transportation contracts for the 2023-2024 school year as per RFB-6834-A with a CPI of 3.5%; and WHEREAS, on July 19, 2023, the administration renewed the ATHLETICS Transportation contracts for the 2023-2024 school year as per RFB-6834 in the amount of $1,500,000; and WHEREAS, on February 28, 2024, the administration decreased First Student (2023-449) by $250,000 and Global Transportation (2023-452) by $623,900; and WHEREAS, on April 17, 2024, the administration rescinded Global Transportation amendment from February 28, 2024 and increased Academy Bus (2023-381) by $600,000 and VP Bus (2023-382) by $250,000; and WHEREAS, the administration is seeking further increases in the amount of $350,000 as follows: Academy Bus (2023-381) increase of $200,000 bringing contract to a total of $1,400,000.00 for the 2023-2024 school year. VP Bus (2023-382) increase of $150,000 bringing contract to a total of $1,300,000.00 for the 2023-2024 school year. |

Resolution
|
WHEREAS, the Yonkers Public Schools Board of Education wishes to increase the existing contracts due to the nationwide driver and vehicle shortage to the following awarded RFB 6834 vendors: Academy Bus Company, Contract 2023-0381; VP Buses LLC. Contract 2023-0382; Academy Bus Company, increase existing contract up to, $200,000.00; VP Buses LLC, increase existing contract up to, $150,000.00; increase existing contracts up a combined $350,000.00. As the mentioned vendors on resolution to provide Athletics transportation services for the 2023-24 SY with the option to extend to 2025. WHEREAS, the following is contingent upon the Yonkers Public Schools' actual utilization of the aforementioned line items and transportation services; and WHEREAS the district administration has designed in conjunction with Academy Bus Company, VP Buses LLC, First Student and Global Transportation. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Yonkers Board of Education authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into transportation contract negotiations and agreements for the 2023-2024 school year. It is acknowledged and agree that pursuant to the terms of that certain inter municipal agreement by and between the City of Yonkers Board of Education ("BOE") and the City of Yonkers (the "City") as filed in the Office of the City Clerk on JUNE 16, 2014 the terms of this agreement are subject to review and revision by the Corporation Counsel, as well as approval by the City's Board of Contracts and Supply. Furthermore, this agreement shall not be enforceable until signed by all parties and approved by the Corporation Counsel's Office. |
