Scope: The Universal Prekindergarten Grant (UPK) requires that the Yonkers Public Schools District collaborate with Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) to provide services to one hundred twenty-three (123) Prekindergarten, 4-year-old students.

Resolution
WHEREAS, five (5) Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) submitted requests to provide prekindergarten services to one hundred twenty-three (123) 4-year-old students from the Yonkers Public Schools, and

WHEREAS, the Yonkers Public Schools convened a Universal Prekindergarten Committee to evaluate the proposals submitted, and five (5) CBOs were elected, and

WHEREAS, the Yonkers Public Schools wishes to provide prekindergarten (4-year-old) seats for students and families collaborating with CBOs as required by New York State Universal Prekindergarten Regulations, and

WHEREAS, the following facilities have submitted requests respectfully to provide these prekindergarten services to students of the Yonkers Public Schools, and



NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT Yonkers Public Schools hereby awards its Universal Prekindergarten contracts to the following CBOs (listed in rank order from highest to lowest scores and at the following costs):

1. St. Peter’s Child Care Center (54 Students X $6,000=$324,000)
2. Westchester Community Opportunity Program (WESTCOP)-Yonkers Childhood Development Center (24 Students X $6,000=$144,000)
3. Small World Daycare, LLC. (18 Students X $6,000=$108,000)
4. Rising Ground, Inc. - Marion and George Ames Early Childhood Learning Center (15 Students X $6,000=$90,000)
5. R.A.B.Y. STEM Childcare Inc. (12 Students X $6,000=$72,000)

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Yonkers Public Schools authorizes the Superintendent to enter into contract negotiations and agreements with the Community Based Organizations listed above for the 2024-2025 school year at a cost not to exceed $738,000.

It is acknowledged and agreed that pursuant to the terms of that certain intermunicipal agreement by and between the City of Yonkers Board of Education (“BOE”) and the City of Yonkers (the “City”) as filed in the Office of the City Clerk on June 16, 2014, the terms of this agreement are subject to review and revision by the Corporation Counsel, as well as approval by the City’s Board of Contract and Supply. Furthermore, this Agreement shall not be enforceable until signed by both parties and approved by the Corporation Counsel's Office.
