Rationale:
|
A change order is a written agreement between the District and its contractor to change a construction/ service contract. They add to, delete from, or otherwise alter the work and/or progress schedule in the contract bid documents. CO’s are caused by any of the three situations that can arise on a project: unforeseen conditions, design errors, omissions, and owner directed extra work.
This change order is required for owner directed work for repairing the Backhoe Loader, and for repairing the 2002 Ford-F450 Super Duty, which cost the district $30,700.00 for the two repairs.
Along with other truck repairs, the original contract amount of $80,030 accounted for in the current contract will be exhausted and exceeded by $50,000.00. Funds are required for the four critical months left in the contract that expires on January 14, 2021. |

|
Ladies and Gentlemen;
WHEREAS: via Resolution Item 15.7 on December 19, 2018 the Board approved awarding a contract to Argyle Motor Works d/b/a H&C truck repair in the amount of $80,030.00
WHEREAS: via Resolution Item 16.9 on November 20, 2019 the Board approved the first amendment to extend said contract under the same terms and conditions for $80,030.00 and a term of 365 calendar days, revising the overall contract amount to $160,060.00 and the overall term to 730 calendar days, and
WHEREAS: additional work under said contract entailing the repair of the backhoe loader and the 2002 Ford –F 450, and other repairs for $50,000.00, and
NOW THERFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that via this Resolution the Board approves the second amendment to GENERAL FUND ANNUAL SERVICE CONTRACT 2019-0541 for Truck Repair to H&C Truck Repair in the amount of $50,000.00 to complete the aforementioned work revising the contract amount from $160,060 to $210,060.00 with no change in the contract term. |
