Rationale:
|
The School District currently has 40 district owned playgrounds in various conditions at 27 different schools. It is mandated that they be inspected in a timely and professional manner.
The inspections are required by a Federal Law enacted in 2000 and will insure that the playgrounds are safe for the children to use and equipment is up to date. The scope of work will include but is not limited to annual inspections and reporting. It will be performed by a Certified Playground Inspector.
This resolution is to award a general fund annual contract for “Playground Safety Inspections” to Playground Maintenance Corp. d/b/a Playground Medic for $24,200.00 for a term of 365 calendar days.
RFP-476 was publicly advertised, received and opened on July 25, 2023. Two responses were received and reviewed. The difference between the highest and lowest bidder is $25,760.00
The apparent low bidder was Playground Maintenance Corp. d/b/a Playground Medic at $24,200.00.
Playground Maintenance Corp. (d/b/a Playground Medic) has passed all vetting and reference checks. This company has successfully completed work for the School District in the past.
This is the annual service contract, with the provision for renewal for up to three additional years by mutual consent under the same terms and conditions as needed. |

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: In compliance with NYS General Municipal Law 103 bids were duly solicited, opened in public and read aloud on July 25,2023 for RFP-476 and,
WHEREAS: Two bids were received and examined and all due diligence taken to determine the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, and
WHEREAS: Such findings indicate that Playground Maintenance Corp. (d/b/a Playground Medic), the apparent low bidder at $24,200.00 meets this requirement
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is here by authorized to enter into a contract for RFP-476 “Playground Safety Inspections” with Playground Maintenance Corp. (d/b/a Playground Medic), 50 Broadway, Suite #200 Hawthorne, NY, 10532, in the amount of $24,200.00 for a term of 365 calendar days. |
