Ameresco, Inc.
Term: Twenty (20) years with three (3) options to renew for an additional five-year (5) period by mutual concurrence.
Amount: Under no obligation or cost to the School District
Scope: In cooperation with the District’s Energy Performance Project Manager Energia and in accordance with Article 9 of the Energy Law, a request for proposals (RFP) was duly solicited in compliance with NYS Municipal Law 104B and the City of Yonkers procurement policy through the issuance of the publicly advertised request for proposal RFP-484 “Energy Performance Contracting Services (EPCS)” advertised on April 19, 2024 for the solicitation of one (1) energy services contractor (ESCO) on a district-wide basis.
Responders included Ameresco, Inc, Honeywell Building Solutions, Energy Systems Group, LLC and RENU Energy Solutions. Based on the proposals and the live presentations, the School District’s selection committee are recommending that Ameresco be awarded the RFP as its ESCO to move forward with the Comprehensive Energy Audit (CEA) on the eight (8) school buildings listed in RFP-484 and or additional schools as desired by the District.
Ameresco’s response to RFP-484 includes $27.7 million in capital improvements and an annual savings of $1.5 million for the combined eight (8) schools.
Prior to entering into the Energy Performance Contract, the ESCO is required to perform a Comprehensive Energy Audit of the desired buildings. This audit is highly detailed and Ameresco, Inc. shall proceed with a CEA at no obligation or cost to the School District. Future implementation will involve an ESCO loan but its payment will be offset by the utility savings.

Resolution
|
WHEREAS, the Board of Education of the Yonkers City School District solicited in compliance with NYS Municipal Law 104B and the City of Yonkers procurement policy through the issuance of the publicly advertised request for proposal RFP 484 “Energy Performance Contracting Services (EPCS)” on April 19, 2024 and requests for proposals from energy services companies for the design and implementation of Energy Conservation Measures at all district facilities on an Energy Performance Contract basis, and
WHEREAS, based upon review and evaluation of the proposals, the School District’s selection committee recommends that Ameresco, Inc. proceed with a Comprehensive Energy Audit (“CEA”) of the district facilities to determine the specific scope of Energy Conservation Measures that might be installed under an Energy Performance Contract, and
WHEREAS, Ameresco, Inc. shall proceed with a CEA at no obligation or cost to the School District.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of Yonkers City School District herewith awards RFP-484 to Ameresco, Inc., and appoints Ameresco, Inc. as the winner of the request for proposals contest; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESSOLVED, that the Superintendent of Schools and/or his designee(s) are hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with Ameresco, Inc., and to complete any necessary paperwork to effectuate this resolution. |
