The Connect-Kids-to-Parks Field Trip Grant Program (Connect Kids) is designed to connect students in New York State with nature and history. The grant provides reimbursement of up to $80 per student (and $160 for Special Education students) for field trips to NYS Parks and NYS & US Federal Historic sites located in New York State. Reimbursable field trip expenses include transportation costs, program, entry, and pavilion fees, on-site equipment rentals (boat rentals, snowshoes, etc.), and camping at state-owned facilities. To facilitate the grant, Yonkers would apply for the funds requested to meet upfront transportation and admission fees for trip attendees. These trips augment and expand the learning our students experience in the classroom and enhance the NYS and YPS District curriculum. This is a continuation of the work YPS has facilitated in the past, sending students and teachers on free field trips to enhance and boost the NYS and YPS Social Studies Curriculum for those who may not be able to afford it. Term: 2024-2025 School Year Amount: $215,170.00 |
