Rationale:
|
The District received the DASNY Grant Disbursement Agreement for State and Municipal Facilities Program (SAM) Grant 22643 “Upgrades to the Yonkers Middle High School Gymnasium” in the amount of $500,000.00. This was sponsored by Assemblyman Nader Sayegh.
The scope of work includes the total replacement of the gym bleachers and locker room lockers & benches. The bleacher work was funded via Resolution 15.6 dated September 22, 2021 and completed in the Summer of 2021 for $276,555.64. The locker room work is to be funded for construction costs in the amount of $213,444.36 and be built this summer.
This resolution is to fund the architectural work by Fuller and D’Angelo (F&D) for $10,000.00.
By separate resolution at this meeting the Board of Trustees is being asked to authorize the extension of Contract 2020-0628 for Architectural and Engineering Services to F&D by 365 calendar days to 3 years and increased the upset contract amount to $2 million.
Upon approval, this resolution is to assign the architectural design, review technical submittals, shop drawings, work progress inspections, payments, and installation for the subject project to F&D for $10,000 and a term of 365 calendar days under contract 2020-0628. |

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: By Resolution 15.15 dated February 26, 2020, the Board of Trustees authorized the award of Contract 2020-0628 for Architectural and Engineering Services to Fuller & D’Angelo Architects for $1 million and a term of three years, and
WHEREAS: By Resolution 15.3 dated March 16, 2022 the Board of Education authorized amendment to increase contract amount to $2 million and the term to four years, and
WHEREAS: Work as described in contract 2020-0628 for CIP10911 “Replace Gym Lockers and Bleachers” at Yonkers Middle High School is required of Fuller and D’Angelo Architects for the design, technical & shop drawing reviews and work progress inspections, and
WHEREAS: The response by Fuller & D’Angelo P.C. was deemed most advantageous to the District at a cost not to exceed $10,000.00.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to assign the architectural work for CIP10911, “Replace Gym Lockers and Bleachers” at Yonkers Middle High School to Fuller and D’Angelo P.C. Architects and Planners, Road 45 Knollwood Road, Elmsford, New York 10523 for $10,000.00 for a term 365 calendar days. |
