Rationale:
|
This is to award IFB 6607 “Group B Building Envelope Restoration” CIP 10868 Palisades Prep School, CIP 10870 Gorton High School to MILCON Construction Corp. for $2,256,400.00and a term of 365 calendar days.
IFB 6607, in compliance with General Municipal Law 103, was let for public bid and bids were opened in public and read aloud on April 23, 2021. A total of Nine (9) bids were received, with the highest bidder at $7,913,045.00 the average at $3,381,022. The low bidder A-1 Construction Services did not meet the bid requirements and was therefore disqualified. The work was designed by Fuller & D’Angelo, PC Architects and was estimated to be approximately $2,750,000.
The apparent low bidder, A-1 Construction Services, the apparent low bidder at the bid opening, A-1 Construction, was determined to be non-responsive in that they did meet the experience and sought to sub-contract more of the work than was specified and
was therefore disqualified.
Fuller and D’Angelo will also be doing the construction management.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: in compliance with General Municipal Law 103 public bids opened on April 23, 2021 for RFB 6607 Contract 1 for General Construction Work, “Group B Building Envelope Restoration “and
WHEREAS: nine (9) bids were received and read aloud in public, and
WHEREAS: the apparent low bidder at the bid opening, A-1 Construction, was determined to be non-responsive in that they did meet the experience and sought to sub-contract more of the work than was specified, and
WHEREAS: such bids were duly examined and as a result, the administration has determined that Milcon Construction Corp. is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder at $2,256,400.00
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that contract IFB 6607 General Construction, CIP10868 & 10870 “Group B Building Envelope Restoration”,” at Palisades Prep School and Gorton High School, to Milcon Construction Corp. 142 Dale Street West Babylon, New York 11704, for $2,256,400.00 for a term of 365 calendar days.
