Rationale: Via Resolution 15.15 dated February 26, 2020 the Board awarded an On-Call Architectural Services contract to KG&D Architects, P.C., (KG&D) for an amount not to exceed $1 million. This resolution is to assign the following specific capital work under that contract.

This is to assign construction management services to CIP10882 “Cafeteria & 3RD Floor Emergency Egress Improvements” at Siragusa School 14.

RFP 420-21-14 was issued on March 16, 2021 to the 6 firms who were awarded the above contract. Responses were received from 3 firms on March 26, 2021 with proposals as high as $52,500.00. Request for proposal 420-21-14 for identical scope of work was issued to Savin Engineers, P.C. under their construction management contract who submitted a proposal for $73,900.

As result of the examination of the responses, it was determined that KG&D would be the best firm suited for this project and happens to have the lowest cost proposal at $33,440.00.

Overall the cost of CIP 10882 is estimated at $800,000 and is to restore the exterior steel fire escape and add a fire code egress from the gym. Work is scheduled for this summer.

KG&D will provide daily on-site supervision, review construction staging areas, compile and record contractor’s request for information, review of completed work, payment requests against completed works, daily logs and records of significant construction events, detailed review of scheduling and maintain construction change records.

Resolution: Ladies and Gentlemen:

WHEREAS: under Resolution 15.15 at the stated meeting on February 26, 2020, the Board of Education authorized the award of Contract 2020-0630 for Architectural Services to KG&D Architects in response to District RFQ404 for an amount of $1,000,000.00, and

WHEREAS: architectural services as specified are required for CIP 10882 “Cafeteria & 3RD Floor Emergency Egress Improvements”, and

WHEREAS: the response by KG&D Architects, P.C. to RFP 420-21-14 issued by the Facilities Department and was deemed most advantageous to the District with assignment of select services of the proposal at a cost not to exceed $33,440.00.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to assign KG&D Architects, P.C., 285 Main Street, Mt. Kisco, New York 10549 to the task of providing architectural services for CIP 10882 “Cafeteria & 3RD Floor Emergency Egress Improvements” via RFP 420-21-14 under Architectural Services Contract 2020-0630 to KG&D Architects, P.C., in the amount of $33,440.00 for 365 calendar days.
