Rationale:
|
In compliance with General Municipal Law 103, bids were let and opened in public on July 14, 2023. Eight (8) bids were received, examined and all due diligence observed in determining that Abbott & Price, Inc. was the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. The work was designed by Fuller & D’Angelo Architects who estimated the value of the work at $1.4 million for all four schools. The highest bid was $1,637,000.
After interviewing the apparent low bidder and confirming that they understood the scope of work, bids were found to be correct, and the firm had performed satisfactory for the Yonkers Public Schools, the Architect, CM and Schools Facilities Management are recommending award of this project to Abbott & Price, Inc., for the amount of $1,222,222. Bids for each school are as follows:
Montessori School 27, CIP 10953, total bid of $303,847
Kahlil Gibran School, CIP 10954, total bid of $269,867
Westchester Hills School 29, CIP 10955, total bid of $418,935
Paideia School 15, CIP 10956, total bid of $229,573
The scope work of work varying by school includes but is not limited to: alterations to existing and new asphalt play areas, new sidewalks, new curb walls, new catch basins, new play stations and play safety surfacing.

WHEREAS: Bids were issued for public advertisement and opened on July 14, 2023 in compliance with General Municipal Law for Bid No. 6986 GENERAL CONSTRUCTION Work for the “Playground Upgrades – Part 1 of Playgrounds & Select Building Upgrades” at Montessori School 27, Kahlil Gibran School, Westchester Hills School 29 and Paideia School 15 Project No. 10953, 10954, 10955 & 10956, and
WHEREAS: Such bids were duly examined and as a result of this examination of the bids submitted, the administration has determined that Abbott & Price, Inc., was the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, with a bid of $1,222,222
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that Bid No. 6986 GENERAL CONSTRUCTION Work for the “Playground Upgrades – Part 1 of Playgrounds & Select Building Upgrades” at Montessori School 27, Kahlil Gibran School, Westchester Hills School 29 and Paideia School 15 Project No. 10953, 10954, 10955 & 10956 to Abbott & Price, Inc., 5, Schuman Road, Millwood, NY 10546 in an amount not to exceed $1,222,222.00 for a term of 365 calendar days.
