Details of New Amendment: Amending RES. #16.29 of BOE meeting 10.16.2024 and BOCS meeting of 10.22.2024. A Literacy Expert from Teaching Matters will provide two workshops for the district focused on Vocabulary protocols and routines - Deepening teacher practice; Reading scaffolds, protocols, and routines - What does it look like to give time for students to read the texts; Harnessing the data that the assessments yield - what are we learning about our students regarding their mastery of standards. Each workshop will require one day of preparation and one day of presentation at a total cost of $6,560; (2) preparation days=$3,200 and the cost of (2) workshops=$3,360. The new total cost of this contract will not exceed $62,560.

Resolution: WHEREAS the Board of Education wishes to enter into a contract with Teaching Matters to purchase additional consulting services support and provide two workshops for 7th and 8th grade teachers to build effective, rigorous practices into lessons, with the goal of improving outcomes for students’ school year,
WHEREAS the Board of Education authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to amend the contract of $56,000 from RES. #16.29/BOE: 10.16.2024/BOCS: 10.22.2024 by an additional $6,560.00 to cover the extra cost of the workshops with Teaching Matters, and,


WHEREAS the district administration has designed in conjunction with Teaching Matters a program which meets the objectives set forth by the Board and the New York State Education Department, and,

WHEREAS the Board of Education authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Teaching Matters to provide these services, and

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Teaching Matters at a total cost not to exceed $62,560. This contract will be increasing by $6,650.00.
