Scope:
(Amending contract 2024-00000492: BOE Approval 8/16/23 and BOCS 9/7/23 in the amount of $8,250. Amendment 1 BOE approved 10/18/23 and BOCS 11/8/23 increased the total amount by $29,925 for a new total of $38,175)
Empowering Creative Minds LLC will amend the existing contract # 2024-00000492 to replace hours allocated to professional development. This is due to the needs of professional development services already being met at Barack Obama, the hours will be reallocated for coaching services for teachers, administrators, and school counselors to establish a Community Service Program. This program aligns with the school's mission and is essential for college, scholarship applications, and civic readiness. This service will be provided at no extra cost.
Empowering Creative Minds LLC will also provide services to support District and school goals to improve student achievement through Classroom Coaching Cycles for teachers aligned with district foci: Accountable Talk, Critical Thinking, and Checking for Understanding.
Increasing the contract by $3,150.00 for a new total amount of $41,325.00

Resolution:

WHEREAS the Board of Education wishes to amend an existing contract # 2024-00000492 with Empowering Creative Minds LLC to purchase additional consulting services to support the district in achieving its goals to improve student achievement through Classroom Coaching Cycles for teachers to improve pedagogy aligned with district foci: Accountable Talk, Critical Thinking, and Checking for Understanding, for the 2023 – 2024 school year,
WHEREAS the district administration has designed in conjunction with Empowering Creative Minds LLC a program which meets the objectives set forth by the Board and the New York State Education Department, and,
WHEREAS the Board of Education authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to amend an existing agreement with Empowering Creative Minds LLC to provide these services, and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to amend an existing contract # 2024-00000492 with Empowering Creative Minds LLC at an additional of $3,150.00, increasing the total amount not to exceed $41,325.00.
