Rationale:
|
This is to provide added BOE capital funding to amend City of Yonkers Contract 2020-0590 “2020 Public Right of Way Improvements.” for an amount not to exceed $175,000.00 for a term of 365 calendar days.
Via Resolution 15.11 dated April 22, 2020 the Board of Education authorized the District to provide capital funding to the City of Yonkers to amend the subject contract to by $250,000 for CIVIL/SITE work to be performed at various District sites in the summer of 2020.
Via Resolution 16.25 dated June 16, 2021 the Board authorized another $250,000 for the summer of 2021.
This resolution is to add another $175,000 to complete key work throughout the District but most notable at School 16, Roosevelt and YMA for the summer of 2021.
The City DPW awarded Paladino Concrete Creations Corp. a $2million contract to perform city wide right of way improvements in March of 2020. This contract was amended to add another $2 million and extend the term to April 2022.
The BOE has been furnishing capital funds to the City to buy concrete site work improvements from DPW through this project for 4 years. Work to include new and/or replaced site features such as sidewalks, curbs, and pavement. Due to the nature of this work, it is not eligible for State Aid reimbursement.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: the City of Yonkers has a standing duly authorized and procured contract Contract 2020-00000590 IFB-6473 “2020 Public Right of Way Improvements.” for the performance of this work under bid unit prices, and
WHEREAS: via Resolution 15.11 dated April 22, 2020 the Board of Education authorized the provision of $250,000.00 to the said contract for the City of Yonkers to provide District directed repairs to concrete sidewalks and other site features for the summer of 2020, and
WHEREAS: via Resolution 16.25, dated June 16, 2021 the Board authorized $250,000.00 for the summer of 2021, and
WHEREAS: the District is in need of further site improvements at various schools, and
WHEREAS: capital funding in the amount of $175,000.00 is to be provided by the District to amend this contract to complete this District work increasing the amount to be spent this year to $425,000.00.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Board of Education provide an additional $175,000 in capital funds to the City of Yonkers perform site improvements on behalf of the Board of Education in 2021 an amount not to exceed $175,000.00 increasing the amount to be spent this year to $425,000.00.
