Rationale:
|
Via Resolution 17.5 at their stated meeting on January 20, 2016 the Board of Trustees awarded a requirements contract to KG&D Architects, P.C., (KG&D) for an amount not to exceed $1 million amended on June 20, 2017 to increase the original agreement by $500,000.00 for a total amount not to exceed $1,500,000.00. This resolution is to assign the following specific capital work under that contract.
RFP 420-21-03 for the subject project was issued on March 12, 2021 to the 7 firms who were awarded requirements contracts via Resolution 17.5 at the January 20, 2016 meeting. Responses were received from 3 firms on March 26, 2021 with proposals as high as $243,000.00.
As result of the examination of the responses, it was determined that KG&D would be the best firm suited for this project and happens to have the lowest cost proposal at $92,689.00.
Overall the cost of CIP 10874 is estimated at $5.1M. Work is anticipated commence May 1, 2021 and be completed by end of the end of the calendar year. The scope of work is to include but is not necessarily limited to: new interior doors & select exterior doors, HVAC duct work, hi tech security, rebuilt toilet rooms, site work and interior & exterior lighting.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: under Resolution 17.5 at the stated meeting on January 20, 2016, the Board of Education authorized the award of a requirements based Architectural/Engineering services contract to KG&D Architects in response to District RFQ313 “Architectural & Engineering Services” for an amount not to exceed $1 million, amended on June 20, 2017 to increase the original agreement by $500,000.00 for a total amount not to exceed $1,500,000.00, and
WHEREAS: architectural and/or engineering services as specified under Contract 617160 are required for RFP 420-21-03 CIP 10874 “Interior Renovations, Doors, Security and Site Work” at Riverside High School, and
WHEREAS: the response by KG&D Architects, P.C. to request for proposals RFP 420-21-03 issued by the Facilities Department was deemed most advantageous to the District with assignment of select services of the proposal at a cost not to exceed $92,689.00.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to appoint KG&D Architects, P.C., 285 Main Street, Mt. Kisco, New York 10549 to the task of providing professional Architectural/Engineering services for CIP 10874 “Interior Renovations, Doors, Security and Site Work” at Riverside High School RFP 420-21-03 under an existing Requirements Contract 617160 to KG&D Architects, P.C., in the amount of $92,689.00 for 365 calendar days.
