18.13 Issuance of Building Permits to Standard Recycling Corp. (SRC) for Yonkers Partners in Education for Fund Raising Purposes

This is to permit Yonkers Partners in Education (YPIE) to have a third party- Standard Recycling Corp. (SRC), to install clothing donation bins at twelve (12) school properties for the purpose of raising funds for the Yonkers Partners in Education, to be used solely within the Yonkers Public Schools. · School 9 · Cross Hill Academy · School 16 · School 21 · School 30 · Lincoln High School · Yonkers Middle High School · Montessori School 31 · Roosevelt High School-Early College Studies · Yonkers Montessori Academy · Rosemarie Ann Siragusa School · Family School 32 The District will issue building permits to SRC directly for each of the sites for a term of 12 months, fees waived and renewable for additional 12-month periods upon mutual consent of YPIE, SRC and the District. The District is not party to the agreement between YPIE and SRC. SRC agrees to maintain and keep the area surrounding the containers free of all debris, refuse, waste and other materials located in or around the containers. The containers are to be serviced on a weekly basis or more often if required. Building permits are revocable at the District’s discretion. The bins are to be brand new, custom painted with the YPIE logo as shown on the attached photos. Bins are to be remotely monitored, entry and tamper proof.

Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS: Yonkers Partners in Education (YPIE) is an organization whose sole purpose is the financial support of the Yonkers Public Schools, and WHEREAS: YPIE has determined that it can better meet its goal by enrolling in a revenue through a recycling program with Standard Recycling Corporation (SRC), and WHEREAS: This program entails the placement and maintenance of a clothing donation bin at each of twelve (12) schools throughout the District, and WHEREAS: The District agrees that this is an acceptable means to continue to receive the benefits provided by YPIE. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent is authorized to issue building permits for the installation and maintenance of a new clothing donation bin at each of the twelve (12) schools to Standard Recycling Corp. (SRC) at 891 Saw Mill River Road, Ardsley N.Y. 10502 for the purpose of raising funds for the District.
