Rationale:
|
As required Yonkers Public Schools Board of Education is requesting
approval to renew existing transportation contacts for 2024-2025 SY
with a 3% CPI increase for RFB 6834 Athletics with Academy Bus Company (2023-0381) and VP Buses LLC (2023-0382).
Amount not to exceed: $2,000,000.00 for Athletics term 2024-2025 school year
-$1,000,000.00 for Academy Bus Company, bringing contract 2023-0381 to a new adjusted total of $2,600,000.00 (BOCS Approval 02/17/23 – Resolution #20.2 – Amendment 1; 09/28/23 – Resolution #20.3 - Awarded)
-$1,000,000.00 for VP Buses LLC, bringing contract 2023-0382 to a new adjusted total of $2,900,000.00. (BOCS Approval 02/17/23 – Resolution #20.2 – Amendment 1; 09/28/23 – Resolution #20.3 - Awarded)

Now therefore be it resolved: That transportation contracts totaling $2,000,000.00 to provide transportation services to and from student athletic events for the term September 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025 to Academy Bus Company, Contract 2023-0381 and VP Buses LLC, Contract 2023-0382.
WHEREAS the district administration has designed in conjunction with Academy Bus Company and VP Buses LLC, a program which meets the objectives set forth by the Board and the New York State Education Department, and,
WHEREAS the Board of Education authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Academy Bus Company and VP Buses LLC to provide these services, and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with VP Buses LLC and Academy Bus Company at a cost not to exceed $2,000,000.00.
WHEREAS the administration did negotiate with the current contractors for transportation for the 2024-2025 school year, and WHEREAS (Academy Bus Company INC, VP Buses LLC) agreed to extend their current contracts with a 3.0% CPI.
And, be it further resolved that in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contracts awarded, routes may be added, routes may be deleted, or routes may be extended, if required and such modifications are hereby approved on condition that no such modification may exceed 10% of the contract price set forth above without prior approval of the Board of Education.
And be it further resolved that the Yonkers Board of Education authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into transportation contract negotiations and agreements for the 2024-2025 school year.
