Rationale:
|
This work was let for bid twice. The results of the first bids on Dec. 18, 2020 were rejected were after determining that requisite scope of work was inadvertently omitted from the contract documents.
This resolution is to grant the administration the authority to enter into the subject contract. In compliance with General Municipal Law 103, this was let for public bids which were opened in public and read aloud on February 5, 2021. Bids were examined and all due diligence observed in determining the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. A total of 4 bids were received, with the highest bidder having a bid of $273,248.00. The work was designed by Eisenbach & Ruhnke Engineering, P.C. and was estimated to be approximately $150,000.00
After interviewing the apparent low bidder, confirming that they understood the scope of work, bids were found to be correct and the firm has performed satisfactorily on previous YPS projects E&R Engineering, Savin Engineers and this department are recommending the award of the subject contract to HRR Industries, Inc.
This CONTRACT 3 of 5, HVAC work includes restoration of the Auditorium: ductwork, radiator enclosures and ceiling fans. Additional exhaust fans for the new toilet room and new cabinet heater for the custodial entrance.
Overall, the scope of CIP 10816 (Phase II) includes but is not limited to: re-bid of the balance of the GC work not completed in Phase 1 such as restoration Auditorium, Library, two basement classrooms, new ADA unisex basement toilet room, select classroom flooring and requisite asbestos abatement. Site work includes new storm drainage, select paving, exterior stairs, stone retaining walls and replacement of the underground fuel oil storage tank. The project cost is anticipated to be roughly $3.0 million.

WHEREAS: such bids were duly examined and as a result of this examination of the bids submitted, the administration has determined that HRR Industries, Inc. is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder with a bid of $169,000.00.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that Bid No. 6569A HVAC, Contract 3 of 5, for Project No. 10816, “Building Renovations & Site Work” at School 9, to HRR Industries, Inc., 568 North Main Street, Brewster NY10509 for the amount of $169,000.00 for a term of 365 calendar days.
