Rationale:
|
This is to award a Purchase Order as referenced above as per the attached emergency declaration for “Procurement of Goods & Services for COVID19 Response” issued by the Superintendent on July 27, 2020 and amended on August 26, 2020.
The subject contract (PO) is to be awarded using the same terms, conditions and prices as bid and currently being executed under PO 2019-000025, which is the District’s general fund service contract with Best Climate CC.
The work entailed under this PO will be capital improvements, not service work. All work will be District directed on a time and materials basis and paid at contract unit prices as bid in 2018. At this time an upset value of $149,600.00 is recommended.

Ladies and Gentlemen;
WHEREAS: an Emergency Declaration was issued on July 27, 2020 for “Procurement of Goods & Services for COVID19 Response”, and
WHEREAS: this Emergency Declaration was amended on August 26, 2020, and
WHEREAS: in implementing its COVID crisis response the District has great need for “On-Call HVAC Restoration” Districtwide capital improvement work, and
WHEREAS: “On-Call HVAC Restoration” Districtwide capital improvement work is covered under this Emergency Declaration at an upset cost of $149,600.00, and
WHEREAS: Best Climate Control Corp, already under contract with the District under general fund PO 2019-000025, “Repair and Maintenance of Air-Conditioning Systems” indicated that they were capable and ready to make such improvements at the same terms, condition and prices as already bid and awarded under that purchase order
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to award the above CAPITAL FUND Purchase Order CIP 10901 “COVID19 Related HVAC Improvements” Districtwide under Emergency Declaration to Best Climate Control Corp., 75 Orville Drive, Bohemia, NY 11716 in the amount of $149,600.00 for a term of 365 days.
