Currently we subscribe to dual 10 gigabits per second (gbps) circuits which provides Internet access to all eligible District locations. This resolution will upgrade those circuits to a single 40 gbps circuit for Internet access throughout the District. The gross annual cost of the circuits is $49,319.40 ($4,109.95 gross monthly cost) is E-Rate eligible at a 90% (E-Rate portion - $44,387.46) discount, leaving the District’s annual share at 10% ($4,931.94). All of the necessary forms have been filed accordingly.
Funding: Pending Adoption of the FY 2025-2026 Budget 450-5303-100000-1620-B2319 (District-wide Telephone Account – Local Funds)
Resolution: WHEREAS the District is seeking to continue our Internet access for all District locations, and, WHEREAS the District currently subscribes to dual 10gbps Internet access circuit servicing all District locations, and, WHEREAS the District’s Internet access is currently provided by Cablevision Lightpath via two 10 gigabit per second (gbps) circuits. Approval of this resolution would allow the District to upgrade that subscription to a single 40 gbps circuit for Internet access throughout the District for the next five years (July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2030). This service is eligible for E-Rate discounts at 90% leaving the District responsible for 10% of the monthly/annual costs. All applicable forms have been filed accordingly. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Yonkers Public Schools issue a purchase order to Cablevision Lightpath, NYS Contract PS68691, in the amount of $49,319.40 for the annual cost of the single 40gbps circuits to continue provide the District’s Internet Access.
