Rationale: Contract with MetLife to provide Life Insurance to Board of Education Employees for the 2019-2021 school years.
Funding: 450.5301.100000.9045.B2800
Resolution: WHEREAS, the District entered into a contract with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company (“Metlife”) for the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 school year Basic Life and Personal Accidental Death Dismemberment (ADD) Policy insurance for BOE CSEA employees as required by contract approved at the 8/21/2019 Resolution Meeting – Resolution No. 10.5; and

WHEREAS the 2019-2020 approved amount was not to exceed $29,000; and

WHEREAS the administration is requesting to increase the value in the amount of $33,157.96 for the 2020-2021 school year;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to amend Contract 2019-00000936 and increase the value in the amount of $33,157.95 for a total aggregate amount not to exceed $62,500 thru 4/30/2021 in accordance with this resolution. This is life insurance, so it is an ever changing bill as people are hired or terminated.

It is acknowledged and agreed that pursuant to the terms of that certain intermunicipal agreement by and between the City of Yonkers Board of Education (“BOE”) and the City of Yonkers (the “City”) as filed in the Office of the City Clerk on June 16, 2014, the terms of this agreement are subject to review and revision by the Corporation Counsel, as well as approval by the City’s Board of Contract and Supply. Furthermore, this Agreement shall not be enforceable until signed by both parties and approved by the Corporation Counsel’s Office.
