(Contract #:2024-00000468, BOE approved 10-18-23/BOCS approved 11-8-23) for an additional $44,527.50, for new a total amount of $84,517.50


Scholastic Inc. will provide the district with various instructional materials for several school buildings and products, including Scholastic’s Guided Reading Short Reads Nonfiction, Guided Reading Short Reads Fiction, and Scholastic Literacy Pro. These independent reading management tools focus on student choice to drive reading engagement, fluency, and comprehension. The services aim to support the grant’s program goal to allow students access to more physical and digital reading resources to increase reading proficiency across various schools and grades.

Resolution: WHEREAS the Board of Education wishes to amend an existing contract with Scholastic Inc. to purchase additional consulting services to provide the district with various instructional materials for several school buildings and products, including Scholastic’s Guided Reading Short Reads Nonfiction, Guided Reading Short Reads Fiction, and Scholastic Literacy Pro for the 2023 - 2024 school year,

WHEREAS the district administration has designed in conjunction with Scholastic Inc. a program which meets the objectives set forth by the Board and the New York State Education Department, and,

WHEREAS the Board of Education authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to amend an existing agreement with Scholastic Inc. to provide these services, and

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to amend an existing agreement with Scholastic Inc. at an additional of $44,527.50, increasing the total amount not to exceed $84,517.50.
