Rationale:
|
Via Resolution 21.42 at their stated meeting on June 19, 2019, the Board of Trustees awarded the subject assignment to F&D for design and minimal construction support services. The project includes but is not limited to the reconstruction of the east entrance stair-bridge, replacement of the adjacent playground safety surfacing and new precast concrete caps at select piers along the boundary wall.
This amendment is to add enhanced construction administration (CA) services to the subject task in lieu of hiring a third party construction manager, historically a more expensive route better for use on larger projects. CA includes full time on-site supervision, review construction staging areas, compile and record contractor’s request for information, review of completed work, payment requests against completed works, daily logs and records of significant construction events, detailed review of scheduling and maintain construction change records. This is an upset estimate. Actual hours use will be billed against and not to exceed this amount.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: under Resolution 17.5 at the stated meeting on January 20, 2016, the Board of Trustees authorized the award of a requirements based, professional Architectural/Engineering services contract to Fuller and D’Angelo, P.C., Architects in response to District RFQ313 “Architectural & Engineering Services for the School Facilities Management Department” for an amount not to exceed $1 million, with the most recent amendment on October 16, 2019, Resolution 15.3 to increase the agreement for a total amount not to exceed $4,500,000.00 and
WHEREAS: work as defined under that contract is required for capital project CIP 10872 “Reconstruction of Entrance Pedestrian Bridge” at Enrico Fermi School, and
WHEREAS: an amendment is required for enhanced construction services to the CIP 10872, PO# 2020-00000444
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to amend the existing assignment to Fuller and D’Angelo P.C. Architects and Planners, Road 45 Knollwood Road, Elmsford, New York 10523, to provide enhanced construction services for CAPITAL Project 10872, “Reconstruction of Entrance Pedestrian Bridge” at Enrico Fermi School under Contract 617108 to Fuller & D’Angelo P.C., (F &D) by $33,750.00 increasing fee from $27,100.00 to $60,850.00 for a term of 365 calendar days under Contract No. 617108, “Architectural & Engineering Services for the School Facilities Management Department”.
