Rationale:
|
This is part of a $500,000 NYS Economic Development Assistance Program (EDAP) to improve the gym facilities at Yonkers Middle High School. Due to time constraints this will be done in two parts. First with the bleachers and later the $180,000 remainder will be used to update the locker rooms, replace lockers.
The bleachers are being purchased by Nickerson Corporation, certified dealer of Hussey Seating in the State of New York, using Hussey’s Sourcewell Cooperative Purchasing contract # 091719 –HSC.
The scope of work includes but is not limited to furnishing and installing new bleachers with a seating capacity of 1184, at a cost of $290,000. Other work associated with the installation such as controls, power and demolition at a cost of $30,000.00 will be required.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: in accordance with General Municipal Law, the administration recommends a new contract with Nickerson Corporation, certified dealer to Hussey, using Hussey Seating Sourcewell Cooperative Purchasing Contract for installation of bleachers, and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Superintendent of Schools is authorized to award a contract for CIP10911, “Installation of bleachers at Yonkers Middle High School” to Nickerson Corporation, 11 Moffitt Boulevard, Bay Shore, NY 11706 for $320,000.00 for a term of 365 calendar days.
