Rationale:
|
The purpose of this contact is to continue to provide annual testing and maintenance of the fuel oil storage tanks throughout the District in compliance with NYS Law and as mandated by the Westchester County Dept. of Health. This is the first of two possible contract extensions for this service contract which may either be renewed again or let for bid in 2021.

Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS bids were solicited and opened on November 22, 2019, in compliance with General Municipal Law for the “Inspection, Testing and Maintenance of Fuel Oil Tanks and Cathodic Protection Systems”, and WHEREAS Board Item 18.11, dated December 18, 2019, was approved awarding said contract to Luzon Environmental Services in the amount of $131,532.85 for a term of 365 calendar days, and WHEREAS bid specifications provide for annual extensions by the mutual consent of both parties, under the same terms and conditions of the original contract, for up to two additional years, and WHEREAS: the administration recommends the extension by one year of this contract under the the first amendment of the contract increasing the contract amount to $263,065.70 and the term to 730 calendar days. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to extend this annual contract 2020-‘0451 for “Inspection, Testing and Maintenance of Fuel Oil Tanks and Cathodic Protection Systems” with Luzon Environmental Services P.O. Box 1070, Woodridge, N.Y. 12789 for $131,532.85 increasing the contract amount to $263,065.70 and the term to 730 calendar days.
