Scope: CPI Verbal Intervention training is an online program. Training and program concepts are taught online and through virtual interactive activities.
CPI Verbal Intervention Training will provide staff with the framework for preventing, de-escalating and safe responses to crisis behavior. This program will focus on what happens from two perspectives: the person in distress and the staff. This program will provide a range of tools to help manage their emotional responses and identify escalating behavior in others.

Crisis Prevention Institute will train and certify designated staff members. When the staff completes and passes the exam they will be qualified to teach other staff members with the approved CPS training material.

Resolution: WHEREAS the Board of Education wishes to enter into a contract with CPI - Crisis Prevention Institute to provide staff with the framework for preventing, de-escalating and safe responses to crisis behavior.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorized the Superintendent of Schools to enter into a contract with the above named provider in the amount not to exceed $30,300
