Rationale:
|
This is for the preventative maintenance, cleaning, inspection and repair of the 108 boilers and burners in the District.
In compliance with General Municipal Law 103, this contract was publicly advertised in June 2020. Bids were opened and read aloud in public on June 26, 2020. Two bids (including a $100,000 contingency) were received: Ultimate Power at $716,000.00 and The Metro Group at $1,472,000.00
Ultimate Power has had this contract since 2011. The $100,000 contingency built into this bid is to cover the unexpected outcomes of insurance inspections. Without the $100,000 contingency the lowest bid is at $616,000.00 which is lower by $79,000 than the previous year’s bid of $695,000.00

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: In compliance with NYS general Municipal Law 103, bids were duly solicited, opened and read aloud in public on June 26, 2020 for BID 6516 “Service and Repair of Burners and Boilers”, and
WHEREAS: as a result of an examination of the bids submitted, the administration determined that Ultimate Power was the lowest responsive and responsible bidder with a base bid of $716,000.00
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the award for BID 6516 “Service and Repair of Burners and Boilers” be awarded to Ultimate Power, Inc., 45 Nancy Street, West Babylon, NY 11704 for an amount not to exceed $716,000.00 for a term of 365 calendar days, renewable for up to two additional years.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Yonkers Board of Education authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into a contract with this vendor.
