Scope: To allow eligible Roosevelt High School – Early College Studies students the opportunity to earn college credit for college level courses taught at the high school. The intent is to enable these students to start their college career while still in high school. The courses are college level and are accepted as direct transfer credit at Iona University and at many other colleges and universities

Resolution: WHEREAS the Board of Education wishes to enter into a contract with Iona University to purchase consulting services to support eligible Roosevelt High School – Early College Studies students the opportunity to earn college credit for college level courses taught at the high school. The intent is to enable these students to start their college career while still in high school, for the 2023-2024 school year,

WHEREAS the district administration has designed in conjunction with Iona University a program which meets the objectives set forth by the Board and the New York State Education Department, and,

WHEREAS the Board of Education authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Iona University to provide these services, and

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Iona University at a cost not to exceed $18,000.00.
