WHEREAS the Yonkers Kiwanis Club, Yonkers Board of Education Trustees, and Mayor Mike Spano jointly sponsor the City’s 2024–2025 Yonkers Public Schools Teacher of the Year Awards. Established by the Yonkers Kiwanis Club and the Board of Education in 1954, followed by the Board’s adoption of the Teacher Hall of Fame on July 13, 1978, the award celebrates Yonkers teachers who further excellence in education; and
WHEREAS Tatiana Galasso has been selected as the Middle School Teacher of the Year 2024–2025 and shall be permanently honored in the Teacher Hall of Fame of the Yonkers City School District; and
WHEREAS Tatiana Galasso has demonstrated a tireless commitment to language instruction and cultural connection in her role as a Spanish teacher at Family School 32 and across several Yonkers schools;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That Tatiana Galasso, a passionate educator and advocate for multilingual learning, be permanently honored as Middle School Teacher of the Year 2024–2025;
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Board of Education of the City of Yonkers proudly joins the Kiwanis Club of Yonkers and Mayor Mike Spano in recognizing her significant contributions to education and her lasting impact on the students and families of Yonkers: Tatiana Galasso.
