Rationale:
|
This resolution is to authorize two actions: the first is to extend the contract under current terms and conditions by 105 to 835 calendar days and secondly to increase the contract amount by $150,000 for COVID19 Emergency Response to $198,750.00.
This contract was to expire on March 17, 2021 but due to the emergency declaration “Procurement of Goods & Services for COVID19 Response” COVID Response it is being extended to June 30, 2021 after which it is eligible for another extension or bidding.
This was required to be done as part of the HVAC response to provide adequate ventilation to the school buildings by October 5.

Ladies and Gentlemen;
WHEREAS: bids were publicly solicited and opened Nov 16, 2018 in compliance with General Municipal Law 103 for RFB 6311 “Maintenance and Repair of Windows”, and
WHEREAS: Board Item 17.2, dated January 16, 2019, was approved awarding CONTRACT 2018-0247 contract to Window Repair Systems, Inc. 2363 Sandifer Blvd., Westminster, SC 29693 in the amount of $24,375.00 for a term of 365 calendar days, and
WHEREAS: bid specifications provide for annual extensions by the mutual consent of both parties under the same terms and conditions of the original contract for up to two years, and
WHEREAS: such provisions were invoked to extend the contract for one year under the first amendment via Res 15.12 on Feb. 26, 2020 revising the contract amount to $48, 750.00 and extending the term to 730 calendar days, and
WHEREAS: additional window repair work was made necessary for the opening of schools under COVID19 ventilation requirements per the emergency declaration “Procurement of Goods & Services for COVID19 Response” dated June 27 and as amended for the amount of $150,000.00 and an extension of term by 105 calendar days
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to issue AMENDMENT 2 TO CONTRACT 2019–‘0618 for “Maintenance and Repair of Window Systems” to Window Repair Systems, Inc., 2363 Sandifer Blvd., Westminster, SC 29693 for $150,000.00 increasing the contract amount from $48,750 to $198,750.00 and extending the term to 835 calendar days.
