Rationale:
|
Assignment of Professional Architectural/Engineering Services Task CIP 10925 “Roof and Window Replacement” at the Annex Building at Martin Luther King Jr. School under Contract 2020-0594 to Eisenbach & Ruhnke Engineering, P.C., (E&R) for $36,000.00 for a term of 730 days.
Currently E&R is the architect for the “Roof, Heating Plant & Replacement & Interior Upgrades” (CIP 10875) at M.L. King Jr. School under Contract 2020-0594.
E&R is currently completing design documents for the main school building (10875) with a similar scope of work: including but not necessarily limited to: roofing, windows, exterior door replacement, hi tech security, interior finishes and requisite hazardous materials abatement. This work being added to that project under separate permits and funding. The Annex is a permanent 4 classroom stand alone building.
E&R base proposal is for $26,000.00 to provide services that include but are not limited to: review existing drawings, field inspect the roof and windows, confirm existing conditions using this information to create bid documents that will also be providing bidding, contract award and construction support. A contingency of $10,000 is added for District directed reimbursable costs such as man-lifts, asbestos sampling and testing, site surveys, destructive test probes, special inspections, etc. This brings the maximum fee for this task up to $36,000.00.
Overall cost of CIP 10925 is estimated to be $400,000.00. Work is anticipated to commence in the spring of 2022.

WHEREAS: via Resolution 15.15 on February 26, 2020, the Board of Trustees authorized the award of Contract 2020-0594, Architectural/Engineering to Eisenbach & Ruhnke Engineering, P.C. in response to RFP404 “On-Call Architectural Services” for an amount not to exceed $1 million, a term of 3 years, , and
WHEREAS: architectural services as specified under Contract 2020-0594 are required for CIP 10925 “Roof and Window Replacement” at the Annex Building at Martin Luther King Jr. School, and
WHEREAS: the response by Eisenbach & Ruhnke Engineering, P.C. deemed most advantageous to the District at a cost of $36,000.00 and,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to assign Eisenbach & Ruhnke Engineering, P.C., 291 Genesee Street, Utica, NY 13501 to the task of providing professional Architectural/Engineering services for CIP 10925 “Roof & Window Replacement” at Annex Building at Martin Luther King Jr. School under Contract 2020-0594 in the amount of $36,0000.00 for 730 calendar days.
