WHEREAS the Yonkers Kiwanis Club, Yonkers Board of Education Trustees, and Mayor Mike Spano jointly sponsor the City’s 2024–2025 Yonkers Public Schools Teacher of the Year Awards. Established by the Yonkers Kiwanis Club and the Board of Education in 1954, followed by the Board’s adoption of the Teacher Hall of Fame on July 13, 1978, the award celebrates Yonkers teachers who further excellence in education; and
WHEREAS Cristina Doley has been selected as the High School Teacher of the Year 2024–2025 and shall be permanently honored in the Teacher Hall of Fame of the Yonkers City School District; and
WHEREAS Cristina Doley has shown unwavering dedication as a special education teacher at Roosevelt High School–Early College Studies, helping students thrive academically and personally;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That Cristina Doley, an extraordinary educator and lifelong Yonkers resident, be permanently honored as High School Teacher of the Year 2024–2025;
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Board of Education of the City of Yonkers, together with the Kiwanis Club of Yonkers and Mayor Mike Spano, proudly honors her for her compassion, leadership, and outstanding service to the children of Yonkers: Cristina Doley.
