:
Mount Vernon School District has requested the Yonkers Board of Education’s permission to piggyback off the Yonkers Public Schools’ existing contract with MAT BUS.
Funding
:
No additional funding- Mount Vernon will provide payment directly to MAT BUS.
Resolution
:
WHEREAS the Yonkers Public Schools has an existing contract (NYSED contract # C751474/ YPS contract # 2021-000000157) with MAT BUS; and
WHEREAS the Mount Vernon School District has requested to enter into a piggyback contract with a Yonkers Public Schools’ transportation vendor pursuant to New York Education Law 305(14)(g) for the purpose of providing transportation for one of their students to travel to Mill Neck School for the Deaf; and
WHEREAS, Mount Vernon School District has determined that the contract cost is appropriate and will result in a cost savings to the Mount Vernon School District and that the proposed piggyback contract meets all the criteria set forth in New York Education Law 305(14)(g); and
WHEREAS the proposed piggyback contract between the Mount Vernon School District and MAT BUS will result in no additional expenditures or cost to the Yonkers Public Schools and the Yonkers Board of Education finds it in the best interest to approve Mount Vernon School District’s piggyback request;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Yonkers Board of Education hereby approves of Mount Vernon School District’s piggyback request with the Yonkers Public Schools’ contract with MAT BUS (NYSED contract # C751474/ YPS contract # 2021-000000157) , and hereby directs the Superintendent of Schools and those under his direction to take all steps necessary to effectuate and implement this Resolution.
