Rationale: To approve a Stipulation of Settlement resolving the Notice of Charges brought under Education Law § 3020a against a tenured teacher, employee ID #340662 (“Employee ID #340622”).

WHEREAS, a disciplinary proceeding commenced against Employee ID #340662 upon Notice of Charges dated November 15, 2021, preferred by Dr. Edwin M. Quezada, Superintendent of Schools, pursuant to Education Law Section 3020a; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Education, at its meeting on November 17, 2021, found probable cause for the Notice of Charges preferred against Employee ID #340662; and
WHEREAS, Employee ID #340662 was represented by counsel who submitted a response denying the specifications in the Notice of Charges; and
WHEREAS, a Stipulation of Settlement has been negotiated between the Superintendent of Schools and Employee ID #340662, dated July 7, 2022, subject to approval by the Board of Education, which Stipulation of Settlement sets forth the terms of settlement of the Notice of Charges; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Education has had an opportunity to review the terms of the Stipulation of Settlement, and finds that the terms are fair, reasonable and appropriate under the circumstances;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education hereby approves the Stipulation of Settlement, dated July 7, 2022, made between the Superintendent of Schools and Employee ID #340662; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Superintendent of Schools and those under his direction take all steps necessary to effectuate the Stipulation of Settlement, dated July 7, 2022, made between the Superintendent of Schools and Employee ID #340662.
