Scope: Additional textbooks are needed for the three New Pre-K Classrooms that will be open @ Boyce Thompson; School 17 & School 23. With this Amendment, the contract dollar amount will increase by $8,700.00 and the new total on this contract is $235,760.00.

Resolution: WHEREAS, the Board of Education wishes to buy additional materials for the New Pre-Kindergarten curriculum “Pre-K On My Way” by SCHOLASTIC EDUCATION, and,

WHEREAS, the “Pre-K On My Way” program will be used in Pre-K classrooms and aligns with the “NEW” New York State Pre-K Learning Standards.

WHEREAS, the district committee has designed in conjunction with Scholastic Education, a program that meets the objectives set forth by the Board and the New York State Education Department, and,

WHEREAS, with the opening of new PK classrooms at Boyce Thompson, School 17 & School 23 an additional $8,700.00 are needed to buy textbooks.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: The Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Scholastic Education at a cost not to exceed $235,760.00.

It is acknowledged and agreed that pursuant to the terms of that certain intermunicipal agreement by and between the City of Yonkers Board of Education (“BOE”) and the City of Yonkers (the “City”) as filed in the Office of the City Clerk on June 16, 2014, the terms of this agreement are subject to review and revision by the Corporation Counsel, as well as approval by the City’s Board of Contract and Supply. Furthermore, this Agreement shall not be enforceable until signed by both parties and approved by the Corporation Counsel's Office.
