Rationale:
|
As required by the State Education Department, the Board of Education acting as a lead agency must satisfy the requirements of State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA).
For the listed project(s), the School Facilities Management Department has determined that the project(s) listed is “TYPE II” action and require no further environmental review under SEQRA:
CIP 10946 Fuel Tank Replacement and Other Improvements at Yonkers Middle High School
CIP 10947 New Athletics Field Press Box at Lincoln High School
CIP 10948 High Tech Security Upgrades at Barack Obama School for Social Justice
CIP 10949 High Tech Security Upgrades at Charles E. Gorton High School
CIP 10950 High Tech Security Upgrades at Lincoln High School
CIP 10951 High Tech Security Upgrades at Yonkers Montessori Academy
CIP 10952 Emergency Flood Remediation Work at School 16

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: based upon the review by the Yonkers Board of Education of the proposed capital project set forth herein, the Yonkers Board of Education hereby finds that the Proposed action constitutes a “Type II Action” as such term is defined in the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) and the Regulations of the Department of Environmental conservation of the State of New York (NYCRR Part 617), and
WHEREAS: the following Capital Improvement Projects can be properly classified as TYPE II action:
CIP 10946 Fuel Tank Replacement and Other Improvements at Yonkers Middle High School
CIP 10947 New Athletics Field Press Box at Lincoln High School
CIP 10948 High Tech Security Upgrades at Barack Obama School for Social Justice
CIP 10949 High Tech Security Upgrades at Charles E. Gorton High School
CIP 10950 High Tech Security Upgrades at Lincoln High School
CIP 10951 High Tech Security Upgrades at Yonkers Montessori Academy
CIP 10952 Emergency Flood Remediation Work at School 16
NOW THERFORE BE IS RESOLVED: that the Yonkers Board of Education shall be Lead Agent for the above SEQRA projects and the above projects be listed as TYPE II action under New York State SEQRA Law.
