Rationale:
|
This resolution is to grant the administration the authority to enter into contract as described above. In compliance with General Municipal Law 103, this contract was let for public and bids were opened in public and read aloud on December 4, 2020. Six bids were opened and examined and all due diligence observed in determining the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.
After interviewing the apparent low bidder and confirming that they understood the scope of work, bids were found to be correct, J&M Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. was determined to be the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. School Facilities Management and Engineer are recommending the award of the subject contract to J&M Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc.
The scope of work for School 30 CIP10892 includes ventilation improvements to the school’s crawl space, fuel oil tank room and new HVAC (including cooling) for converting a basement storage room to a small group instruction room.
The scope of work for Palisade Preparatory School is limited ventilation improvements to one crawlspace.
The work was designed by Eisenbach & Ruhnke Engineering, P.C. The construction cost for this project was estimated to be the range of $250,000 to $275,000.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: bids were issued for public advertisement and opened on December 4, 2020 in compliance with General Municipal Law 103 for Bid No. 6556 HVAC Work, CIP10892 and 10893 “HVAC Improvements” at the School 30 and Palisade Preparatory School, and
WHEREAS: such bids were duly examined and as a result of this examination of the bids submitted, the administration has determined that J&M Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc., is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder with a bid of $279,500.00.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that Bid No. 6556 HVAC Work, CIP10892 and 10893 “HVAC Improvements” at the School 30 and Palisade Preparatory School to J&M Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc., 395 Adams Street, Bedford Hills NY 10507 in an amount not to exceed $279,500.00 for a term of 365 calendar days.
