Rationale: Amendment 1 to Resolution #12.5 Agreement with The Harris Project for the 2023-2024 School Year approved December 20, 2023-Contract #2024-00000864 Original Terms: December 1, 2023 - June 30, 2024 Amount: $40,175.00 (No change in amount) Amendment Terms: December 1, 2023 - June 30, 2025 Scope - The purpose of this amendment is to extend the terms of the resolution to December 1, 2023 - June 30, 2025. The Harris Project will provide comprehensive Middle School/High School curriculum focused on increasing awareness of the relationship between mental health, trauma, and substance misuse/addition (co-occurring disorders), including pathways to use, risk of self-medication, and negative consequences of use on the developing brain. This will include a combination of information sharing , knowledge building, skill development and norms clarification, for students, staff and parents.

Resolution: Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS the Board of Education wishes to enter into a contract with The Harris Project to provide these services to Yonkers students in grades six through twelve (middle school and high school), WHEREAS the District has determined that the services can best be provided by The Harris Project, and NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with The Harris Project in a total amount not to exceed $430,175.00.
