Rationale:
|
This is to award IFB-6889, Contract 1 of 4, General Construction Work on CIP 10878 “Heat Plant, HVAC Upgrades & Asbestos Abatement” Part 2 at Westchester Hills School 29 to Peter A. Camilli & Sons Construction LTD for $904,000.00 and a term of 365 calendar days.
In compliance with General Municipal Law 103, bids were let and opened in public January 6, 2023. Eight (8) bids were received, examined and all due diligence observed in determining that Peter A. Camilli & Sons Construction LTD was the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. The work was designed by Fuller & D’Angelo Architects who estimated the value of the work at $865,000.00. The highest bid was $2,868,442.00.
Overall, CIP 10878 which has been separated into three Parts includes parking expansion; new exterior doors, exterior lighting, heat plant & controls, windows, signage, flooring, ceilings & lights; ADA toilet room upgrades, high-tech security and emergency generator.
Part 1 substantially completed in 2022 includes new: exterior doors, hi-tech security, parking lots, generator, toilet room & PA upgrades and requisite asbestos work.
Part 2 being awarded here for 2023 construction, includes full heating plant replacement, HVAC and classroom upgrades.
Part 3 targeted for 2024 construction will include new windows, emergency generator and select ceilings and lights.

WHEREAS: IFB-6889 was publicly advertised and opened on January 6, 2023 in compliance with General Municipal Law 103 for Contract 1 of 4, General Construction for CIP 10878 “Heat Plant, HVAC Upgrades & Asbestos Abatement” Part 2 at Westchester Hills School 29, and
WHEREAS: Eight (8) such bids were received and duly examined and the administration has determined that, Peter A. Camilli & Sons Construction LTD is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder with a bid of $904,000.00.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is authorized to award a contract for IFB-6889 General Construction for CIP 10878, Contract 1 of 4 “Heat Plant, HVAC Upgrades & Asbestos Abatement” Part 2 at Westchester Hills School 29 to Peter A. Camilli & Sons Construction LTD., 210 Marble Avenue, Pleasantville, NY 10540 in the amount of $904,000.00 and a term of 365 calendar days.
