Rationale:
|
Via Resolution 15.15 at their stated meeting on February 26, 2020 the Board of Trustees awarded requirements contract to Barile Gallagher & Associates (BGA) for an amount not to exceed $1.0 million.
This resolution is to assign the subject capital work under that contract 2020-00000626 as per the attached emergency declaration for “Procurement of Goods & Services for COVID19 Response” issued by the Superintendent on July 27, 2020 last amended on December 10, 2020.
Under CIP 10901 BGA initially provided detailed engineering surveys of all HVAC equipment at Schools: 5, 9, 10, 13, 16, 17, 18, 21, 22, 23, 24, 26, 27, 28, 30, 31, 32, DeHostos, Dodson, Fermi, MLK, Boyce Thompson, and Thomas Cornel. BGA also provided designs for required HVAC upgrades at Schools 5, 16, 17, 18, 21, 22, 23, 24, 26, Fermi, Boyce Thomson, and MLK. HVAC upgrade designs included new exhaust fans, unit ventilators and air handling units.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: under Resolution 15.156 at the stated meeting on February 26, 2020, the Board of Education authorized the award of On-Call Architectural Services Contract No. 2020-00000626 to Barile Gallagher & Associates in response to District RFP404 On-Call Architectural Services for the School Facilities Management Department for an amount not to exceed $1 million, and
WHEREAS: work as defined under that contract is required for engineering consulting services for the capital project 10901 “COVID19 Related HVAC Improvements” Districtwide under Emergency Declaration.
WHEREAS: in the course of executing and completing the contracted work, work was required to be performed in the amount of $200,000.00.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to appoint Barile Gallagher & Associates, 39 Marble Ave, Pleasantville, NY 10570 to the task of providing professional engineering consulting services for CIP 10901 “COVID19 Related HVAC Improvements” Districtwide under Emergency Declaration under contract 2020-00000626 in an amount not to exceed $200,000.00. Term is for 365 calendar days.
