Rationale:
|
This resolution is to grant the administration the authority to enter into the subject contract. In compliance with General Municipal Law 103, this was let for public bids which were opened in public and read aloud on February 26, 2021. A total of four (4) bids were received, with the highest bidder at $71,000. The bid scope of work was prepared by School Facilities Management (SFM) and was estimated to be approximately $39,000.
The project was originally let for bid under IFB-6537 and after receiving only one bid from Integral Contracting Group in the amount $50,850 and SFM recommended the project be re-bid under IFB-6537A.
After interviewing the apparent low bidder for IFB-6537A and confirming that they understood the scope of work, their bids were found to be correct, confirmed references, and a successful history with the District, School Facilities Management Department is recommending the award of the subject contract to Joe Lombardo Plumbing & Heating of Rockland, Inc.
The project scope of work involves replacing in kind two sets of existing duplex sump pumps. Pump 1 drains ground water from under the Gymnasium and Pump 2 handles collected storm from the parking lot and pumps it to the sewer mains in the street. Work also includes upgrades to the electrical distribution and new pump controls to monitor run hours and alarms.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: in compliance with General Municipal Law 103 public bids opened on February 26, 2021 for RFB 6537A General Construction, CIP10912 Replacement of Duplex Sump Pumps” at School 23, and
WHEREAS: four (4) bids were received and read aloud in public, and
WHEREAS: such bids were duly examined and as a result the administration has determined that Joe Lombardo Plumbing & Heating of Rockland, Inc., is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder at $46,300.00.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that Contract RFB 6537A, General Construction CIP10912, “Replacement of Duplex Sump Pumps” at School 23” at to Joe Lombardo Plumbing & Heating of Rockland, Inc., 321 Spook Rock Road, Suffern, NY 10901 for $46,300.00 for a term of 183 calendar days.
