Rationale:
|
Construction contract IFB 6602, General Construction Contract work, “Cafeteria & 3rd Floor Emergency Egress Improvements”, in compliance with General Municipal Law 103, was let for public bid and bids were opened in public and read aloud on April 23, 2021. A total of three (3) bids were received, with the highest bidder at $969,000.00 the average at $901,050. The work was designed by Fuller & D’Angelo Architects and was estimated to be approximately $750,000.00
Scope of work includes but is not limited to the replacement of sections of the 3rd floor Fire Escape and installation of a new fire exit from the Gym providing proper ADA access. Replacement of existing steam heat radiation in the Gym, masonry repointing in select areas and select new site fencing.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: in compliance with General Municipal Law 103 public bids opened on April 23, 2021 for RFB 6602 Contract 1 for General Construction Work, “Cafeteria & 3rd Floor Emergency Egress Improvements “and
WHEREAS: three (3) bids were received and read aloud in public, and
WHEREAS: such bids were duly examined and as a result, the administration has determined that Grace Contracting & Development is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder at $ 834,000.00
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that contract IFB 6602, Contract 1 General Construction work, “Cafeteria & 3rd Floor Emergency Egress Improvements”,” at School 14, to Grace Contracting & Development 427 Beach Road, Haverstraw, NY 10993 for $834,000.00 for a term of 365 calendar days.
